U.S. Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino dropped a bombshell Saturday, demanding a sweeping probe into “massive fraud” enabling illegal immigrants and non-English speakers to snag commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) for semitrucks—slamming California’s lax system as a highway to havoc.
Bovino reignited fury over sanctuary-state sloppiness, where bribery scandals and dodgy issuances have flooded roads with unqualified haulers, fueling a rash of deadly wrecks.
In remarks to Fox News, Bovino raged “We’re doing everything we can to take these illegal aliens off the streets before they kill more American citizens!”

He zeroed in on a linguistic loophole, noting “The training for a CDL is very difficult for American citizens who speak English. How exactly, in many of these states—California especially—are these truck drivers passing a difficult exam when they can’t even speak English?”
Calling for accountability, the border chief stressed “Let’s take a look at how they are being issued! I’ve not received a good answer from any of these states. That bears investigation.”
