A 17-year-old migrant from the African country of Guinea along with a 13-year-old accomplice, both of which have extensive criminal records, are accused of assaulting, raping, and extorting a 16-year-old girl in Paris.
The victim was found by a passerby crying near the Cité des Sciences in Paris on September 30, 2025,. The Paris prosecutor’s office reported that she alleged being raped in the facility’s underground parking area by two teenage boys, ages 13 and 17. The two boys had stolen her phone and subjected her to a horrifying ordeal just moments before she was found.
Based on details reported by French newspaper Valeurs Actuelles, the girl had skipped school that Tuesday to visit the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in La Villette by herself in the late afternoon, following Snapchat exchanges with one of the teens. She only vaguely knew the teen when she decided to meet him.
Due to their ages and legal restrictions, their real first names can’t be disclosed, but the younger one is referred to as Youcef (a pseudonym), while the older is called Moussa in the report from Valeurs Actuelles.
By around 5 p.m., the girl arrived at the Cité des Sciences to meet Youcef and Moussa for what she thought would be a short, casual conversation before a friend joined her. However, the situation quickly spiraled out of control.
The minors claimed she had damaged a bracelet and grabbed her phone, insisting she owend them €10 euros, which she did not have. Moussa then demanded she come with them and retrieve the money.
Moussa kept demand the money, and reportedly said: “I didn’t drive two hours for nothing… I added you [as a friend] on Snapchat and since you accepted, we’re a couple.”
The girl repeatedly tried a number of strategies to get back her phone threats of getting her cousin involved, trying jokes, appeals to empathy, and showing her fear.
However, the two teens were not deterred and they kept guiding her to a secluded spot in an underground parking lot “to work things out.”
The girl said that once at the parking spot, the 17-yea-old stated: “Either we have sex, or I won’t give you your phone.”
The girl began crying and warned she would yell. He responded by striking her face, then declaring: “I’m going to take out my phone, I’m going to film you, and you’re going to say you consented.”
The victim informed police investigators later that Moussa was aware she was no longer a virgin and thus assumed she would sleep with anyone. In a final bid for escape, the girl mentioned she was menstruating, expecting it to deter him.
He demanded verification, and upon seeing it, grew frustrated. “You’re being a pain in the ass,” he said, “it doesn’t matter, we’ll do it anally.”
He proceeded to force her onto her knees for oral sex, followed by anal penetration that caused her severe pain, while recording her the whole time which police say was his attempt to show “consent.”
He kept warning her that he would also share the footage if she did not stop resisting. After Moussa was finished, Youcef then assaulted her but halted when she expressed pain. The two perpetrators then allowed her to dress and walk back to the train station.
When she requested her phone again, Moussa reportedly replied: “If you do anything or go to the police or anything, we’ll do worse to you. My father is a policeman; I’m not going to prison, and if I get out, I’ll ambush you.”
The pair then fled, laughing boisterously, still withholding her phone.
On her way home, the victim approached a stranger to contact the police. Yet, believing Moussa’s claim about his father’s police role, she wavered on pressing charges. However, once informed of the incident, police moved forward with an investigation and the suspected attackers were arrested in early October by the Juvenile Protection Unit (BPM).
Moussa, the 17-year-old lead perpetrator from Guinea, had a prior record including armed violence, burglary, death threats, drug violations, assaults, and extortion.
His 13-year-old accomplice from the multicultural Paris suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis also has a history of crimes like weapon possession, aggravated theft, vehicle break-ins, extortion, and drug-related crimes.
When reached by Valeurs Actuelles, the Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed the duo faces charges of gang rape and gang robbery—specifically for the phone theft and the sexual assault. Investigators have compiled substantial evidence pointing to their involvement, which has permitted them to detain the two suspects.
“One, aged 17, has been placed in pretrial detention, the other, aged 13, has been placed in a closed educational center,” the prosecutor’s office stated. The suspects are presumed innocent at this point.
