MASSIVE SURGE in ICE Applications Despite Leftist Backlash and Violence

More than 200,000 Americans have applied to join U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) since the initiation of the federal crackdown on illegal immigrants.

This surge in applications comes despite a relentless campaign of leftist hate and violence directed at ICE agents, highlighting a robust public support for the agency’s mission.

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, in a recent appearance on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends”, emphasized the agency’s commitment to quality over quantity in its hiring process. 

“Our goal is make sure that we hire the 10 thousand that we promised the American people,” Lyons stated, underscoring the target number of new agents. 

He further assured, “We’re not sacrificing Our training standards or hiring standard, right. We are going to make sure they will getting the best of the best out there.” 

Lyons also noted the caliber of applicants, many of whom are “former federal law enforcement, Current federal law enforcement, Current state and local police That want to join the ICE mission because they want to feel like they’re working for an agency that respects them and allows them do their job.”

This development is particularly noteworthy given the backdrop of intense opposition from leftist groups. Despite an 8000% increase in death threats against ICE officers, as reported by Fox News, the number of applications has not dwindled. 

The persistence of potential recruits is a testament to their resolve, even as they face a hostile environment. 

Social media has been rife with calls for boycotts and cancellations of subscriptions to services like Spotify, which have run ICE recruitment ads.

The backlash also prompted leftist musicians to voice their discontent, further amplifying the controversy.

ICE’s advertising efforts have extended beyond traditional media, with recruitment campaigns on platforms like Spotify, YouTube, and Hulu. 

These ads, which include phrases like “Fulfill your mission to protect America. Join at Join.Ice.Gov,” have sparked significant backlash, with some subscribers vowing to cancel their accounts. 

Lyons also noted that a manhunt is on for a gunman who fired shots at ICE agents in Chicago, warning that he would be found and prosecuted.

“Obviously, for, you know, law enforcement reasons, I can’t get into it, but they are out there scouring all leads, surveillance footage, things like that,” Lyons stated.

“We’re going to find them. We’ve made it clear that if you put your hands on an ICE agent or a Border Patrol agent, or if you threaten them, shoot at them, throw rocks, we’re going to find you and we’re going to prosecute you,” he urged.

Despite the opposition, ICE has made significant strides in its enforcement operations. 

Recent statistics from ICE indicate a robust increase in arrests and deportations. As of this month, ICE has made roughly 278,000 arrests since the start of the second Trump administration in January 2025, averaging about 965 per day, with a notable focus on those with criminal convictions or pending charges.

The agency has also conducted around 380,000 deportations during the same period. 

The agency’s efforts are part of President Trump’s pledge for one of the largest deportation efforts in U.S. history, a commitment that Lyons vowed to fulfill.

The surge in ICE applications, despite vehement leftist opposition and violence, underscores a significant public endorsement of the agency’s role in national security. 

The resilience of potential recruits, coupled with ICE’s ongoing success in arrests and deportations, marks a critical chapter in the ongoing immigration enforcement narrative.
