Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, awarded the Nobel Peace prize yesterday, has doubled down on her dedication of the award to President Trump, declaring that she “insists” that he deserves it.
As we highlighted yesterday, Machado was presented the award for “promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela,” with the Norwegian based committee Snobbishly intimating that Trump doesn’t have the “integrity” to be considered.
However, In remarks that have surely irked the self appointed Nobel overlords, Machado immediately dedicated the award to Trump and elaborated on his role in advancing Venezuela’s path to freedom after decades of dictatorship under Nicolás Maduro.
She wrote on X, “This recognition of the struggle of all Venezuelans is a boost to conclude our task: to conquer Freedom. We are on the threshold of victory and today, more than ever, we count on President Trump… as our principal allies to achieve Freedom and democracy.”
“I dedicate this prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause!” Machado emphasised.

The U.S. under Trump has intensified pressure on Maduro through sanctions, naval deployments in the Caribbean, and strikes against drug-trafficking networks linked to the regime (e.g., Tren de Aragua), which Machado has publicly endorsed as vital to regional security.
Commenting on Machado’s remarks, Trump himself revealed that she had even called him after the announcement, and told the President directly that he “deserved” the prize.

Machado then appeared on Fox News and confirmed her belief in Trump.
“I decided to dedicate it to President Trump because he deserves it!” she urged, adding “Because not only has he been involved in only a few months in solving 8 wars, but his actions have been decisive to have Venezuela now at a threshold of freedom after 26 years of tyranny!”
“That had destroyed the lives of millions of Venezuelans, de-stabilized [the] region, and undermined the institutions in the United States,” Machado continued.
“Because having Venezuela as a safe haven of enemies of the United States, using our territory or resources to hurt American people at American institutions, is certainly a threat to national security of the United States and to [the] security of [the] hemisphere,” she further explained.
“President Trump has been very clear, courageous in terms of dismantling these criminal structures. And on behalf of the Venezuelan people, I reaffirmed our gratitude and our commitment to this cause for the whole of America,” the activist reiterated.
“So I insist he deserves it,” she concluded.
