The only sane voice on CNN, Scott Jennings, has a succinct break down of what has happened with Disney/ABC and Jimmy Kimmel after the announcement that the leftist host’s show will be back on air tonight.
Disney announced that after “conversations” with Kimmel, the show will return, having missed just a few days in the wake of the host’s vile comments relating to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
There is no explanation of how Kimmel or the show will be any different, but as Jennings puts it…
So basically his employer suspended him for being an insensitive prick, and we don’t live in an authoritarian regime? Got it. https://t.co/Z4j98MhbR6

For days the left was declaring that President Trump and/or the FCC had pressured Disney to pull the show, and that this constituted a full on turn to fascism, and that America is over… or something.
Now, suddenly he’s back. So turns out it wasn’t fascism after all.
But I thought this was “the death of free speech!”

A lot of gymnastics for nothing.

The ONLY reason why Kimmel actually matters is due to it being an off-ramp for anything about Charlie.
They are DESPERATE to chill that conversation as much as possible. No aspect of it is palpable to the vast majority of the American people.
No! This is Trumps reverse fascism!

Such a scary 5-6 days. It was this generation’s Cuban missile crisis

Of course, the obvious real reason for Kimmel being canned was that he is devoid of ratings owing to having used the show as a platform for his rampant TDS and only ever having on leftist guests who bash America.
This, combined with his sick efforts to peddle lies about the murder of Kirk led to him being yanked off air.
The decision to reinstate him seems like a massive misstep for Disney, but will ultimately be more entertaining to watch as it hugely backfires.
Some say, "Cry more." I say (to Disney and ABC), "Bleed more money." I love it and I'm enjoying it.

YES, FINALLY! At last we can all get back to our normal routine of never watching Jimmy Kimmel

Already, in response to the announcement, Nexstar Media Group, the largest ABC affiliate group in the United States, has announced it will still no longer air Jimmy Kimmel Live! on its network of over 60 ABC stations.
Sinclair Broadcast Group, another major player in local television, has also declined to reinstate the show, effectively pulling the popular late-night program from a substantial portion of ABC’s affiliate markets.
The damage is done.
Nexstar’s official statement reads:
“We made a decision last week to preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live! following what ABC referred to as Mr. Kimmel’s ‘ill-timed and insensitive’ comments at a critical time in our national discourse. We stand by that decision pending assurance that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve. In the meantime, we note that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be available nationwide on multiple Disney-owned streaming products, while our stations will focus on continuing to produce local news and other programming relevant to their respective markets.”
Despite Kimmel’s ultimate demise likely only being delayed for a while, it behooves to remember exactly what has gone down here.
This one isn’t funny.

I don’t care that he’s going back on air, that’s up to Disney and ABC. I care that they compared his one week vacation with Charlie Kirk, saying they were both silenced.
This one needs to be remembered forever
Basically.

We also spent an entire week covering something that didn’t really matter and comparing a non-cancelation to a political assasination.
But it’s the right that needs to cool things down, right?

I have never forgiven Disney for killing Bambi’s mother.
With Nexstar and Sinclair preempting his show, it is a real hollow victory.
Jimmy will do a Zoom meeting from his basement studio. Stay tuned for coordinates.
