A 24-year-old Dutch woman was allegedly raped in the middle of a drug den by Moroccans in the multicultural neighborhood of Seine-Saint-Denis in Paris. The men are accused of being major drug dealers, with the woman rescued after a police geolocated the woman’s brief phone call to a friend.
The woman was allegedly raped amidst large stockpiles of narcotics and prescription medications, and was only saved once she alerted her friend on WhatsApp that she was being held captive by the men. A large quantity of anxiolytics were seized during the police raid.
On Sunday morning, police officers raided the apartment and found the woman in the bedroom of a building very close to the Clignancourt Flea Market. Police officers arrested two Moroccan suspects, according to the Bobigny prosecutor’s office.

At 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, a young woman called the police and told them that her friend had contacted her via WhatsApp and said several men were holding her captive. The phone call only lasted a few seconds, but apparently the Moroccans realized the phone call was being made and quickly seized the woman’s phone.
Police specialists were still able to geolocate the telephone call to the exact building on Rue Mathieu, but were unable to determine which apartment the phone call was made from. However, a local resident pointed the officers to one apartment inside the building.

When the police knocked, it turned out to be the wrong apartment, but one man peeked his head out of a nearby apartment to observe the police. He then quickly shut his door and went inside. This aroused the suspicion of the police. They then proceeded to knock on his door, with the occupant telling them to go away and refusing to open the door.
The police then decided to enter through a back window and burst into the room, only to find the victim inside with her shorts still pulled to the ground. Police immediately arrested one suspect and then found the other one behind a door before arresting him as well.
Inside, police find a massive stash of illegal drugs. According to Le Parisien, there were “1,746 blister packs each with 14 Lyrica tablets, 584 blister packs each with seven Brieka tablets, and 279 blister packs each with 14 Pregabalin tablets.”
These drugs, known as anxiolytics, are routinely used to treat epilepsy, but are also known to produce euphoria for users and are now the drugs most often obtained through prescription forgeries in France. The street value of all the drugs is estimated at €80,000.
“The police came across a veritable stockpile that was supposed to supply the Puces area and probably part of northern Paris,” one police source told Le Parisien.
The victim then told police through an English interpreter that she met the attackers near a store, at which time they took her to her apartment and confiscated her passport and keys. She was then raped by the men.
One of the Moroccans is in the country illegally. Both remain in police custody.
