Other nations have banned the use of election machines. To many ways to tamper with even remotely via wireless radio.
Mail-in voting also allows for cheating so that needs to go unless you can figure out better security measures but even then counterfeit ballots could be used.
Voter rolls also allows for cheating so again link it to already existing identification, state and federal. That can be done at the federal level for federal elections.
The entire process is not that complicated if you can find a way to authenticate ballots like we do with currency.
