Three men are standing trial for the gang rape of a 19-year-old woman in a Düsseldorf hotel, with the indictment indicating the men left her in her own vomit after the act. The men, one Turkish man and two German citizens, are now standing trial.
The three men are from Siegen, and they face charges of attempted manslaughter in the case.
The migration background of the German citizens, if any, has not been disclosed. However, there are millions of German-Turkish dual citizens, and if any of them are arrested, they are charged as Germans.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, the young woman was completely drunk, high on marijuana, and unable to consent. During the rape, she showed almost no physical reaction due to her highly intoxicated state, according to German newspaper Rheinische Post.
Incredibly, the men filmed the acts, and the videos are part of the proceedings. The case may have never come to light, but police were actively surveilling the suspects, as they were known drug dealers. As a result, the police saw the videos.
The charges were read out in the First Grand Criminal Chamber, but the three men charged in the case had their family and friends there, who screamed their support for them.
“Stay strong, brother,” one chanted with a raised fist, adding that “justice will prevail.”
The case first began when one suspect, who is 29, met the woman at a club at the Düsseldorf Harbor on the night of Aug. 6, 2022, and encouraged her to smoke marijuana. From there, he took her to a hotel and rented a room in cash.
The girl, who will testify at a later date, was extremely intoxicated at that point and could not say no.

The man began raping the woman and kept going even though she vomited. Then, he contacted a second 28-year-old defendant over WhatsApp and told him to come to the hotel to “bang” the woman.
That suspect found the woman lying in her own vomit and sexually penetrated her.
Then, a third defendant, a 32-year-old, arrived and raped the woman orally and vaginally, all while filming his acts.
The first suspect apparently invited a number of other unknown men who entered the room, according to prosecutors. Over the course of three hours, the men raped her, but some perpetrators remain unidentified.
Despite the woman vomiting multiple times, she was left in a “desolate condition.”
Five more days of trial are scheduled.
