After a man was beaten to death in the Austrian capital of Vienna, police have now managed to arrest a Pakistani suspect on Sunday, with police saying the random attack appeared to have been conducted out of “bloodlust.”

The 27-year-old man was found severely beaten with head injuries in Vienna’s tenth district in Grenzackerstrasse in the Favoriten neighborhood. He was transported to the hospital but died shortly afterwards.

Now a 21-year-old Pakistani man has been arrested who police say has already confessed. Police said the man “felt persecuted” and attacked his victim out of “bloodlust.”

The victim, a native of Bangladesh, was reportedly in the wrong place at the wrong time, with investigators telling Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung they believe it was a random attack.

Not only has the Pakistani man confessed, but police recovered a video from the suspect’s phone which allegedly showed him beating the victim to death.

The 21-year-old Pakistani man was already known to police for various crimes, including two violent crimes, which he had been arrested for.

According to the State Criminal Police Office, the suspect was arrested in his apartment on May 19 following an appeal for witnesses.

  1. What? No names?
I have friends in Austria I haven’t heard from lately and I am concerned for them.
I thought Austria was a safe place to relocate to from Los Angeles. Am I wrong?

    1. It used to be a safe place. Vienna was always voted the safest, or second-safest city in the world, but those days have gone. thanks to (former German chancellor) Merkel inviting them all to Germany in 2015, whereby they had to traipse through Austria and many of them stayed, especially in Vienna, and more came, and more, and their families, and the people they sent the Austrian taxpayers’ money to…. And they are still coming.
I used to teach at a school near where this murder took place. Scary to think about, and the area was “multicultural” then (until mid-2015), but nothing like it is now. The 10th district, Favoriten, where Hungarian PM Orbán likes to film the location to warn people in Hungary…
But hey. a friend of mine in Vienna, who is also sick of the situation (despite being married to a Syrian) had visitors from Berlin (Germany) who were “amazed at how peaceful” it seemed to them by comparison!

  2. Let me guess … He gets set free because virtue signaling, upreshun, or something brave or stunning ?

  3. FFS. Is he going to use ‘bloodlust’ as a defence in court? He doesn’t sound particularly oppressed to me, having been allowed to live in Austria and already freed at least twice after violent crimes. I believe Austria is the home of the Glock. Maybe they should test a magazine on him and save the Austrian taxpayers. Yes, I live in the UK, but I’m commenting because this could just as easily happen in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool etc.
