Elon Musk announces Tuesday that he programmed a Tesla Optimus robot to do the ‘Trump dance’ in a demonstration for the President himself, as well as Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
Musk made the remarks during a conversation with Saudi Communications and Information Minister Abdullah Alswaha, noting “We just showed several of our Tesla Optimus robots to his highness and President Trump, and I think they were very impressed.”
“In fact, one of our robots did the Trump dance, which they thought was pretty cool. So our robots can dance, they can walk around, they can interact,” Musk added.

While this may elicit ‘who cares’ shrugs among many, it is actually a massive leap forward in the technology.
Teslarati Reports “The first time anyone got a real preview of Optimus was in 2022, when Tesla debuted semi-functional prototypes at AI Day.”
“One Tesla Optimus bot walked on stage while another performed some arm movements,” the report continues.
It adds, “By 2023, Tesla unveiled Optimus Gen 2, demonstrating advanced tasks like sorting colored blocks, maintaining yoga poses, and some dancing.”
“Late last year, Tesla Optimus robots attended the company’s ‘We, Robot’ event, performing tasks like serving drinks and interacting with people in the crowds. Teslarati played rock, paper, scissors with Optimus… The Tesla bots danced in synchronicity at the event with their arms and torsos.”
Now it’s doing this.

Still, even despite this being a Tesla robot, the question must be asked… how long before it stops dancing and starts exterminating?
