You got the lights backwards. Jet with wing tip strobes ran into the helo from behind. Helo was bright whitelight almost stationary. Helo was running about 80 kts. Jet was running 140 kts. Only in new math can an 80 kt aircraft -with no wing tip strobes) catch and hit a 140kt aircraft. Helo was warned and turned on all external lights.
Apparently, the copter was flying somewhat erratically along the flightpath before reaching close proximity to the airliner.
Possibly a mechanical fault or the pilot was a trainee with little experience, or became suddenly ill and lost control.
