Vice Presidential Candidate JD Vance reacted quickly when a woman in the crowd suddenly screamed behind him during a Town Hall event in North Carolina.
Vance was taking a question from someone in the audience when there was a loud noise from behind him and a woman suddenly screamed loudly.
“Just a second man, we okay?” Vance responded after immediately turning to investigate what was happening.

Vance immediately stops everything only to realize it was just a woman’s chair breaking.

“Kamala Harris built this platform behind us, that’s what happened,” joked Vance.
What actually appeared to happen was that a chair seemingly couldn’t hold the weight of a rather large black woman.
“We doing okay ma’am, we good?” Vance asked the woman.
The event continued as normal, although it’s unlikely the chair survived.
One could understand how people would have been alarmed by the scream given the two assassination attempts against Donald Trump, but Vance handled it calmly.
“JD looked like he was ready to rush into the crowd to save someone in mortal danger. He’s a good man,” commented Charlie Kirk.
