Russia is offfering temporary residence visas to foreigners who wish to escape western countries where immoral “neoliberal ideals” have taken over.
The stunning development was first reported by Russian news agency TASS.
Under the new program, foreign nationals won’t have to go through the normal process of learning the Russian language, the country’s history or its laws to qualify for the three month visa.
“Moscow will provide assistance to any foreigners who want to escape the neoliberal ideals being put forward in their countries and move to Russia, where traditional values reign supreme, according to a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin,” reports TASS.
The visas are being issued outside of the usual quota approved by the Russian government and will be offered to westerners who have rejected the imposition of “destructive neoliberal ideals on people, which run counter to traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.”
Candidates will be apply to apply for the visas as soon as next month, so long as they live in a list of countries to be compiled by Russia that are deemed to be “imposing unhealthy attitudes on their citizens.”
The program was created as a result of Italian student Irene Cecchini’s plea to Putin that Russia offer a safe haven for “those who share traditional cultural and family values,” and was signed into by Putin law via a decree on Monday.
Western media outlets like Business Insider responded by asserting that Russia is an “authoritarian state” and that the program is designed to appeal to “far-right figures and conspiracy theorists.”
Or alternatively, it could appeal to people living in countries like the UK who are being imprisoned for social media posts.
Despite being “authoritarian,” Russia sends far fewer people to prison for mean tweets than the UK does.
In 2021, Putin blasted the west as “completely insane” for allowing children to be taught there is no biological sex.
During a speech at the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi, Putin said the woke crusade against traditional gender roles was “subverting human nature.”
