Rand Paul Explains Why He Hasn’t Yet Endorsed Trump

“I’m looking for a little bit more before I make a final decision”

GOP Senator Rand Paul has explained why he hasn’t yet thrown his weight behind Donald Trump as the GOP nominee, amid criticism that he has been too supportive of RFK Jr.

Speaking to Spectrum News, Paul stated that “I think that it’s important if [Trump] wants to get my vote, and my support and wants me to be more active in this, that he’s going to have to be more vocal on things like the lockdowns that I opposed, like the civil liberties abuses I have opposed, like the debt which frankly has been bad under Republicans and Democrats.”

“I’m looking for a little bit more before I make a final decision,” Paul further declared.

“I’m supportive of Donald Trump, but whether or not I take an active role, endorse and go out and campaign for him is something yet to be determined,” he added.

“When we’ve agreed I’ve been very supportive, when we’ve disagreed I’ve also disagreed with him,” Paul also noted.

Watch:

Paul’s role in the Senate investigations into the origins of COVID cannot be understated, and many believe it is important that Trump recognises Paul’s voice is an influential one among conservative voters.

In a separate interview, Paul reacted to the testimony of Anthony Fauci before the House earlier this week, noting that it was telling how quickly Fauci “threw his aide under the bus.”

The Senator was referring to Fauci’s longest serving aide David Morens, whose email exchanges with COVID era health officials exposed how extensive the cover up was, as highlighted by Paul himself.

“David Morens has worked for 20 years for Anthony Fauci and in his opening statement, he says, ‘I barely knew that guy, he had an office in another building, hardly ever saw him, wasn’t included in my policy meetings,” Paul said, adding “And so, essentially, they’ve thrown David Morens to the wolves now.”

Paul noted that Morens’ testimony in May directly contradicts what Fauci said this week.

“And so really, I think there needs to be further investigation to find out who’s telling the truth here,” Paul asserted, adding that Morens should be called back and given an opportunity “to correct the record.”

Paul also reiterated that he has asked the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for documentation and information that has not been provided over the past three years.

“In fact, it is my conclusion that the NIH is actually more secretive than the CIA and that’s… alarming and disturbing and really should not be tolerated,” the Senator urged.

  1. Ol’ Rand will put on his yarmulke and bite the foreskin soon and give Donny his endorsement. Hell, he might even make another trip to Israel to really seal the deal.

  2. Congress is shielded from the disaster that is the Biden administration. For the deplorable it’s war against inflation and crime but a little more than 400 in office live in gated communities with security and staff where inflation is a mere annoyance requiring the occasional comment on news media. No standing in line with a mask for this royalty. Life goes on as usual.

  3. Just cutting funding from large swarths of the federal bureaucracy, and then micro-managing the funds they do get, will help to eliminate a lot of bureaucratic corruption.
