MSNBC anchor Joe Scarborough, who last week claimed Joe Biden is cognitively “better than he’s ever been,” was torched on X after declaring that Donald Trump will, if elected, arrest journalists.
Scarborough quoted New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman’s post about Trump calling the media criminals, and set about spreading fear that under a Trump 47 presidency members of the press would be rounded up and jailed.
Respondents were quick to point out that during Trump’s four years in office precisely zero journalists were targeted for harassment beyond ‘you’re fake news’ tweets, and that journalists were REALLY targeted, harassed and arrested under Biden, and before him Obama.
The journalist referred to above is Steve Baker, who was arrested, cuffed and perp walked in front of cameras by the FBI a fortnight ago for reporting on the events of January 6, 2021.
Others pointed to James Rosen, a Fox News reporter who was spied on by the Obama administration, and former CBS reporter Catherine Herridge, who was recently found in civil contempt for refusing to reveal her sources pertaining to reporting on a likely illegal FBI investigation.
Plenty of other reporters have been harassed, arrested and even JAILED under Biden.
This represents yet another case of a Biden apologist mouthpiece denying the reality of what is happening around them right now and instead projecting it on to their sworn enemy, Trump.
