Nikki Haley is still refusing to drop out of the race despite getting utterly trounced by Trump on Super Tuesday.
The former UN ambassador will not unite behind Trump even though she only won Vermont in a night that was completely dominated by Trump.
“We’re honoured to have received the support of millions of Americans across the country today, including in Vermont where Nikki became the first Republican woman to win two presidential primary contests,” Olivia Perez-Cubas, a spokesman for the Haley campaign, said.
“Unity is not achieved by simply claiming ‘we’re united’. Today, in state after state, there remains a large block of Republican primary voters who are expressing deep concerns about Donald Trump,” she added.
Talk about polishing a turd.
Trump is expected to take 14 out of 15 states, handing over 600 delegates with 169 from California alone.
MSNBC said Haley was “dancing on the deck of the titanic.”
The former president is on the verge of officially claiming victory and there is no reasonable path back for Haley, although she still clings on in what is nothing more than a feeble establishment protest campaign.
Sources close to Ms Haley told the Telegraph she had no intention of dropping out and will continue to lead her zombie campaign to widespread derision.
Haley’s only other victory in the primaries was in Washington DC, where she attracted 60 per cent of the vote, prompting Trump to call her the “queen of the swamp”.
During his victory speech last night, Trump warned America is “dying” and the “world is laughing at us” over the Biden administration’s handling of the border crisis.
“We’re going to stop them. We’re going to close our borders,” Trump told supporters, adding, “We’re going to have to deport a lot of people, a lot of bad people, because our country can’t live like this.”
