Plan to Accommodate Illegal Immigrants in Small Town ‘Paused’ After Locals Daubed Housing With ‘Not Welcome Scum’ Graffiti

Furious residents were put to the back of the queue on the housing list.

A plan to house illegal immigrants in a small town in the UK has been paused after angry locals daubed housing with the words “not welcome” and “scum out”.

The rural town of Millom is located in Cumbria, just outside of the Lake District, and has a population of 5,600.

Residents discovered that the government had struck a deal with developers to turn at least 8 houses into Houses Of Multiple Occupancy (HMOs) to accommodate 40 ‘asylum seekers’ (illegal immigrants who almost entirely comprise of young men).

Greedy developers bought up cheap housing and then agreed to contract with the government to house the migrants, putting 112 native families in need of homes to the back of the queue.

There was no consulation with residents or the town council at any stage.

The town’s existing population already struggles to get a GP appointment, there’s no police station and the nearest hospital is 40 minutes away.

Angry locals responded by daubing the houses with graffiti that said “not welcome” and “scum out,” while bricks were hurled through windows in some properties and builders found tyres slashed on their vans.

It appears to have worked, at least for now.

“Plans to use properties in Millom as homes for asylum seekers have been ‘paused’ following vandalism and criminal damage,” reports the NWE Mail.

“A public statement issued by Millom Town Council said Serco has ‘guaranteed’ there will be a pause in procurement and no properties will come into use until all relevant meetings have taken place and the Home Office has made a decision.”

A government spokesperson responded to the fury by denouncing the vandalism and graffiti.

“The Home Office has a duty to provide safe and secure housing for asylum seekers and we are continuing to work closely with local authorities in Millom, to manage any impact in the area and address the local communities concerns,” said a statement.

Millom is just one example of towns across the country being deluged with illegal immigrants that they didn’t want or vote for.

The sheer scale of mass migration flooding into the UK means ten cities the size of Birmingham will need to be built by 2040 just to accomodate all the new arrivals.

This is all happening amidst an existing housing shortage crisis that has driven up prices and rendered home ownership financially impossible for millions of Brits.

  1. Thank you for your sharing. I am worried that I lack creative ideas. It is your article that makes me full of hope. Thank you. But, I have a question, can you help me?

  2. The government has a ‘duty’ to house illegal immigrants (NOT ‘migrants’)? Then change the damn law and leave the ECHR and kick every single illegal immigrant out of the country immediately, no appeals. What about the government’s duties to our own citizens?

  3. There has to be a point where people are going to start to fight back. The investors who purchased these homes are lucky that they weren’t just destroyed outright. Ultimately it might come to that for the poor people there.
