Numerous government agencies banded together with academic institutions and big tech in an effort to censor prominent conservatives in the run up to the 2020 election, a report from the U.S. House of Representatives has concluded.
Congressman Jim Jordan presented the findings Monday, revealing that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the Global Engagement Center (GEC) within the State Department established so called ‘disinformation groups’ to flag social media posts and online content it deemed problematic as part of an Election Integrity Partnership (EIP).
The House report titled “THE WEAPONIZATION OF ‘DISINFORMATION’ PSUEDO-EXPERTS AND BUREAUCRATS: HOW THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PARTNERED WITH UNIVERSITIES TO CENSOR AMERICANS’ POLITICAL SPEECH” shows that the DHS and other government bodies partnered with Stanford University’s Internet Observatory, the University of Washington’s Center for an Informed Public, Graphika, and the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab.
“[T]he federal government and universities pressured social media companies to censor true information, jokes, and political opinions,” the report notes.

The report further notes that “The pseudoscience of disinformation is now – and has always been – nothing more than a political ruse most frequently targeted at communities and individuals holding views contrary to the prevailing narratives.”
