GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has said that he is only focused on the top office, and is “not interested” in being anyone else’s Vice President.
During a Fox News interview last week, Ramaswamy said “Donald Trump and I share something in common and that is that neither of us does well in a number two position,”
He continued, “I’m built to actually lead the organizations that I’ve built, and I think that, when I’m looking at the federal government, my greatest contribution, – and one of my goals being to reunite this country – I’m going to be in the best position to get that done if I’m doing that from the top job.”
“I’m not interested in a different position in the government,” he asserted, adding “Frankly, I’d drive change through the private sector sooner than becoming a number 2 or a number 3 in the federal government.”
Watch:
Ramaswamy has been gaining in popularity, with an Emerson College poll showing he is now tied with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in second place in the GOP primary contest with 10 percent support apiece.
Both lag far behind Donald Trump who polled at 56 percent.
