During a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas once again claimed that the southern border is “not open,” prompting Republicans to label him a “tyrant” and a liar and to call for his impeachment.
Despite some 7 million encounters with illegal immigrants since Joe Biden took office, Mayorkas claimed that he is “proud” of the his Department’s work at the border, claiming “our approach to managing the border securely and humanely, even within our fundamentally broken immigration system is working.”
Rep. Tom McClintock covered the fact that the number of illegal immigrants that have been allowed to simply vanish into the country is the same as the population of the State of Nebraska.
Rep. Matt Gaetz described the “Mayorkas doctrine,” noting “if you show up at the border and get released into the country, if you don’t commit a specific aggravated felony, which by the way doesn’t include a lot of assault and battery, doesn’t include a lot of domestic violence, but if you’re not one of the people who commit those crimes, you get to stay forever.”
Rep. Ken Buck called Mayorkas a “traitor” and spoke about the massive amounts of fentanyl being trafficked into the country:
Rep. Harriet Hageman called Mayorkas a “tyrant” to his face:
Rep. Chip Roy exposed Mayorkas as a serial liar:
