A new report claims that President Trump blamed Jared Kushner for pandering to “the blacks,” who Trump thought were never going to vote for him anyway because “they all fucking hate me.”
The claim is made by Michael C. Bender, senior White House reporter for the Wall Street Journal, in his new book Frankly, We Did Win This Election: The Inside Story of How Trump Lost.
According to Bender, Trump blamed Kushner for his messaging in response to months of Black Lives Matter riots and mayhem (which Bender describes as “civil unrest”) not connecting with Americans.
The report claims that Trump thought the law and order message which proved so successful in 2016 had been diluted by Kushner’s push for “criminal justice reform,” which actually had the consequence of making Trump look weak when the riots began and didn’t earn him any goodwill amongst African-Americans voters.
“I’ve done all this stuff for the Blacks—it’s always Jared telling me to do this,” Trump said to one confidante. “And they all fucking hate me, and none of them are going to vote for me.”

“Trump privately told advisers that he wished he’d been quicker to support police and more aggressive in his pushback against protesters,” writes Bender.
According to the report, Trump told Kushner, “I’ve done all this stuff for the blacks – it’s always Jared telling me to do this. And they all fucking hate me, and none of them are going to vote for me.”
According to Bender, the weekend after Father’s Day, Trump began trying to distance himself from Kushner by scheduling political meetings at the White House without him.
Many America First nationalist warned Republicans for months and even years before the 2020 election that the campaign’s obsession with capturing more of the black vote was futile and that more effort should have been made on reaching swing voters.
Thanks to the likes of Jared Kushner seizing control of the campaign, that warning was never heeded.
