Transgender Activist Suggests Sex Change Operations More Important Than Treatment of Cancer Victims

“Our surgery is not cosmetic”.

A transgender activist on Twitter was ridiculed after suggesting that sex change operations were more important than the treatment of cancer patients.

“Trans patients were called last week and informed their long-awaited top surgery had been cancelled to let more cancer mastectomies happen. It’s not their responsibility,” tweeted Toby Sinbad Walker.

“Our surgery is not cosmetic. Transgender wait times are fatal and I #WontDieWaiting,” he added, before going on to assert that transgender people are at risk of suicide if they don’t get their operations.

Walker describes himself as an “intersectional feminist,” a “mixed white/Indian/Syrian” and a “Bi trans man,” which makes him, according to his own words, “a diversity wet dream”.

The response to his tweet was vehement.

“I’m 100% in support of the trans community but if a trans person claimed that their top surgery was more important than my mom’s mastectomy we’d have a problem. Do you have any idea how fast breast and lymph cancer spread? Weeks can mean the difference in life or death,” said one respondent.

“Why the hell should trans people get priority over people who need life saving treatment? People wanting to change gender should be at the bottom of the list for treatment,” added another.
