Apparently, wanting immigrants to assimilate in America now makes you a “white nationalist”.
That’s according to “progressive activist” Jordan Uhl, who was responding to a Tucker Carlson monologue in which the Fox News host explored how many illegal immigrants were living in the United States and how to respond to this.

“Tucker Carlson just opened his show with a monologue on “assimilation” that’s hard to describe as anything other than white nationalist,” screeched Uhl, comparing it to a previous Tucker diatribe which he claimed Tucker said “diversity (was) making us weaker”.
The left now appears to be moving the goalposts so far so as to claim that now merely talking about immigration in anything other than a positive light makes you a white nationalist.
This is of course yet another draconian, underhanded ploy to get Tucker Carlson deplatformed.
Numerous respondents put Uhl straight.
The inability of almost anyone on the Left to make a cogent argument without calling people racist, white supremacist, etc., is a far greater threat to our republic than asking honest albeit uncomfortable questions about policy.

God forbid we would want immigrants to "assimilate" – how racist!

He’s actually right. If you do not assimilate immigrants into a country’s values and culture then what is the purpose of having something called a country? What does it stand for and what will it fight for?
